In his long Piping career, with both Bands and as a solo performer, Richard has been called upon to play at a variety of functions such as Garden Parties at St. James’s Palace, corporate Banquets at The Guildhall, Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and numerous top London hotels.
Richard has also performed at many Highland Balls, festivals and weddings, at various worldwide venues and colonial outposts, including the Philippines, Bermuda, France, Germany, Sicily and even a ‘bare-foot’ wedding on the beaches of Raratonga in the ‘Cook Islands’.
At ‘New Years Eve’s’ gone by, apart from many top London hotels and night-spots, Richard has found himself on ‘Cruise Ships’, ‘The Orient Express’ and ‘Raymond Blanc’s restaurant in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside.
Richard has also appeared on T.V. and Radio, taking in Blue Peter at the age of 14 and 39, The 100th Lottery Show, The Queen Mothers Memorial Concert at the Royal Albert Hall and Operas at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Bernie Grant Centre, London, The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester and The Sage Theatre, Gateshead.
In 2005 alone, Piping took Richard to Scotland, Ireland, Slovakia and Italy. And whilst in Italy, gave tutorials and recitals in the Great Highland Bagpipe.
